Mine turns itself off entirely.No sound or anything. It sometimes turns itself back on again after a few seconds though.

Sounds like it's knackeredFailing capacitor or summat. Recommend you scrap it and buy a nice new one.

one thing you could try is de dusting itworked for my telly now that i think about it.
just open it up get the lint out and reseat all the plugs.
