Well thenif you can't find an ubergeek to deal with it you may have to bite the bullet and pay to have it recovered like I did. AT LEAST THEN YOU CAN SAY YOUR PICTURES HAVE A MONETARY VALUE.

I've got an ubergeek family, and none of them can sort it.I'm not pleased, as it's 160gb and a years worth of data.
However, upon reflection it's basically just music and PSDs of cats.
I've got all of my pictures hosted on my site, so I could go on a mass downloading spree to get the backup
