# I don't know human
does it not depend on where it occurs?

# Well in the UK (probably not counting Scotland) as long as the ship has hit
the rocks and is officially shipwrecked it is legal to nick stuff.
The Police can shut the beach, in which case you'd be trespassing (or ignoring the Police or something). That's about it.

# what about if "someone" owns the beach, and doesn't give a shit?
could they be ordered to close the beach? by teh police?

or would that take some kind of courty room type person?

edit: actually, there's probably stuff in civil contingences and rip for them to do wtf they want no doubt

still, gotta laugh, innit :D

# It'd at least take a warrent I presume
Also, do they then gain ownership to everything that fell on their beach?

# I think there was a case of this fairly recently.
I think it turns out they can claim it all as long as they fill out a form declaring they've nicked it.

# Hahaha
"All this stuff belongs to me now, because it fell out of a boat onto my beach and I said I WANT IT ALL"
