
Is it rude to post a picture of someone else's wedding cake on the internet? I mean, I haven't their express permission.

I'm not sure... you could post it, let people see it and then edit it away so that there is no lasting record - I think that would get the approval of the ethics committee (committee is a word made by committee - 'well I think we should double ALL the letters," "I disagree," "let's water down our ideas by combining them!")
