you read any J. G. Ballard? specifically Unlimited Dream Company? if not I would suggest that whole heartedly.. one of the finest pieces of british literature ever..in my opinion :)

I am really bad at reading.Probably due to some undiagnosed dyslexia, and humiliating experiences at junior school.
I have just started reading Shogun, but appreciate the recommendation.

yes, by Aldous Huxleymine was more of a if you liked that you should read this sort of recomendation.. but I think everyone should read that book.. some of the most lurid imagery I have ever had the pleasure of reading..
basic plot outline is a man obsessed with flyign steals a light aircraft and then crash lands outside of Shepperton.. where he dies and gets ressurected as a fertility god.. cue lots of awesome awesome madness. :D. it has the greatestchapter in the world which involves him ejaculating and where ever his semen lands plants start growing.. and then running round the suburb making plants grow :D
