# Aliens is far superior to Alien.

# it bloody well is.

# It's a photo finish,
But I'd say Alien wins because it doesn't contain Newt's nostrils or the cruddy future-chic business suits.

# she is irritating
but what it loses with Newt, it makes up with Apone and Vasquez. everybody has their own reasons for liking each film, i wouldn't try to change anyone's mind. i just think Aliens is the better film.

# We haven't had anyone controversial come and big up Alien 3 yet.
Which wasn't too bad either. I think the whole quadrilologiligy is just delightful.

# Alien 3?
look down there a bit
*points*

# Wow. We posted those Alien 3 comments just a minute apart.
Let's have alien babies together.

# I find now that the 80's "kill everything loudly and swear alot because it makes you much cooler"
stylings are a bit dated, whereas Alien is just as great as it was when it was released

# Good point Mr Toast.
All the "futruistic" things have been overtaken in reality, in only 20 years, than in the 57 yrs Ripley was out for.

# i'm a true child of the '80's
i still love The A-Team, ffs.

# Dated? Where would you like me to begin with 'kill everything loudly and swear alot because it makes you much cooler'
Black hawk Down? All the nineties' Vietnam films like Full metal Jacket etc

Aliens is a movie classic, just like Alien; it's simply the Alien concept done from a another angle

# 1987 was in the nineties now?
(FMJ).
;P
(, Sun 28 Sep 2008, 22:10, archived)
# Hahahaha
The nineties were very flexible, a bit of the eighties here, a bit of the new millennium there

# Yes we know.

But each are good .

# they are
i just prefer action to atmosphere.
(, Sun 28 Sep 2008, 21:50, archived)
# I think Aliens mixed both
hence why it's a better film experience IMO
(, Sun 28 Sep 2008, 21:51, archived)
# exactly.
i think Alien was a bit heavy on the atmosphere but lacking in action. Alien 3 had atmosphere, but it wasn't so heavy-handed. some of the characters were more in-depth, too.
(, Sun 28 Sep 2008, 21:55, archived)
# Alien 3 seemed to veer off on a weird tangent
I didn't really understand the overall point why it was made. It seemed like a film devoted to claustrophobia and despair from start to finnish without any real impact anywhere
(, Sun 28 Sep 2008, 22:03, archived)
# i think that was the point.
Aliens had all the weaponry and troops, Alien 3 was showing how the same job could be done with a handful of unskilled and undisciplined men with no real weapons at all.
