# Pssst
I know you've been to Derby, but you keep mysteriously not being around at bashes I attend at the last minute...

# So, due to your last minute attendance
and my absence, you're inferring what?
;-)
The only reason I missed the London Bash was due to British bastarding Rail.

# On that note
Was seeing if I could train it to Derby so I could drink more. Last train leaves at 9pm, so no. Although the last train actually leaves at 9.44. If I didn't mind not getting home till 6.50am on Sunday!

# *winks*
You can always share my hotel room, dahlin....

Edit: The train service generally is a bit rubbish, but don't bother with 'TheTrainline.com', it's shite.

# It's not thetrainline that are rubbish
It's the bastards that are STILL digging up all our local train tracks and so running replacement buses of a weekend. If my sister wants to visit from Birmingham, it's quicker for me to go up and get her!

# That's completely pants.
They've been digging up the track behind me for the last 5 weeks, it's been lovely, those buggers laying new sleepers, track, ballast, etc 24/7.
It's pleasure to have the bloody trains back now, less noise.

un-fucking-real

# 5 weeks?
Pshaw! A friend of ours who lives about three stops up hasn't been able to use her local station at weekends since she was 17. She's now 23....

# i don't get
why they do so much main line work at weekends, rather than overnight, or during the quiet periods in the middle of the day during the week.

took me 5 and half hours to get back to liverpool on sat, including an hour to Gloucester as we had to go via newport to avoid the works

# Overnight is a problem
Due to my proximity to the line.
