Can anyone give me tips on how to do this in The GIMP?

Just realised that's a much simpler thing than I thought...should have looked more carefully, lol

Thought the gradient was going in all sorts of different directions. Just realised there's actually only one gradient there with the arrowy thing as a mask.

Feeling a bit silly now... :-)

It came out of the 'Graphs' compo. Someone posted a graph outline of the Death Star under construction, it looked a bit Frasier-esque, one thing led to another and...
