They have an experience of living life.Doesn't mean to say their experience is a good one, doesn't mean to say they are not selfish or racist. It does not mean anything.
If anything I'd say I've seen more people who count getting older and having family as justification to fuck over any other race, minority or class to keep their own unit in well heeled shoes.
