# may have.
Nixon repeatedly shot himself in the foot during his campaigns but still got voted in.
Same for George Snr. and Jnr. to an exent. I am unable to understand the relevance of presidential campaigns in america.

The majority seem to vote for the candidate who promises to infringe the human rights of the people they don't like.

# Granted
It's an unknowable monster at the end of day; I just hope for some politics not in alignment with the typical right-wing shock jocks at the end o the day; how that country has had such a huge proportion vote in that Bush mob twice now is perhaps a serious concern; I doubt our ramblings on this place can answer

I also hope the Che wearing hat brigade could fuck off as well; socialism equals nothing; Stalin's great accomplishment was being a cunt to the extreme, and didn't grasp fundamentals like we don't want to be equal to housing estate chavs, living off everybody else's taxes getting stoned, achieving nothing in life, except frequent criminal convictions

# yes.
the face of leftist politics is embarrassing as well. The stereotype seems to be some sort of sandal-wearing neohippy with a pathetic sloganed t-shirt. Instead of marching and chanting in the streets about things, wouldn't it be sensible for these people to come together to form a tangible political movement?

No, it would not, because they have jobs and families to feed, and shouting about things they don't agree with is all they have time for.

I saw quite a humourous piece from Penn & Teller bullshit, where a woman went to an anti-capitalist march with a petition to "BAN DIHYDROGENOXIDE: This has been found in our children's foods, bodies, it's all around us and no-one is doing anything to protect us from it.

No-one questioned the petition, just seemed worried and disgusted, and signed. I forget how many signatures they got altogether, but it was a lot. "Lefties" seem to have a problem with water.

My point is, informed, organised leftist politics seems to be on the wain and is being replaced by idiots similar to Tommy Sheridan who see themselves as Ghandis.

# I am a radical centrist
left, and slightly right, with whatever the issue at hand

That Indian bloke is one of the most over rated celebrated blokes in history; his treatment of his wife on his fucked up religious beliefs was simply disgusting based on fucked up beliefs

and he then took all the medicine he denied her, cunt

# he was also a rampant racist. he wrote a few books supporting apartheid in south africa
and tried (and succeeded to some extent) to incite a war against black people living in india. This was before his big peace-loving deity act, obviously.
