In fairness, the effects shouldn't be very severe, especially as the coolant water isn't highly radioactive in the first place, and it'd be heavily diluted.Still, I'd check the Becquerel count of the meat. :)

that was done at dounreay when my dad worked there, they would go catch lobster, and crabswhich are prone to picking up radioactive materials, (dunno why) then if the count was within tolerance, they'd have a nice lunch.
as for my evening, it just got somewhat better as i have BEER &trade.

Well, they're kicking up all the sediment aren't they. They'll be getting more radioisotopes for the same reason boar and deer etc. do.I am pretty okay. It's nearly 10 and I've yet to sleep. I reckon I'll go to sleep at like 6 or something.

Heavy isotopes, sink, or settle. Kick up the sand or the top layers of leaves and whatnot and there they all are.Most of abundant nasty stuff decays pretty quick smart though (Iodine-131 has a half-life of 30 days).
I base all my knowledge on the Lenin Chernobyl NPP though, so this doesn't all apply.

I think the word you're looking for is BIOMAGNIFICATION.Little animals all have a small amount that they absorb from the environment.
Large animals have that, but also the small amount from each little animal they eat.

This, as well as that, Crabs and lobsters and other similar crustaceanshave what's known in laymans terms as "dead man's fingers" which are effectively gills or filters for all the shit that they breath from the water. these are poisonous at the best of times and must always be carefully removed, so one can imagine that crabs that are filtering radioactive isotopes will pick up a decent amount of radioactivity.
