# Not shocks just so addictive,
I started two characters, a homely christian fellow and a vindictive murderous bitch.

Within a few minutes of play outside the vault each was playing an entirely different game.

# oh right...
I thought it was one of them daft "monsters waiting to get you in the dark games" like doom 3 was. That really pissed me off.... you can have a torch and a gun. but only one at a time. like they never head of tactical lights ffs....

# Nah, more typical FPS lighting
but the RPG element is downright daunting.

I accidentally uncovered an ability called "Dream Crusher", which reduces enemy critical hits on me, after I shat all over someone's ambitions.

Provoked a genuine "lol whut?"

# It doesn't have power type abilities does it?
Like where you can make people's equipment malfunction or stuff like that. Those types of games always get far too complicated and irritating.

# It has lots of ability options.
If you didn't like Bioshock, Mass Effect, Oblivion etc. then this is one to avoid.

No psychic or magic abilities from what I've seen but lots of ways to customise your character's gameplay.

# Argh!
That was the most annoying thing about Mass Effect, the fucking powers. The shooting was great but there was too much emphasis on getting new powers whilst only getting marginally improved versions of existing weapons. And the tactical pause menu thing was pointless.

If it's more like bioshock's powers that might be bareable, because they were all basically just close range weapons of various sorts.
