# I don't really know, I consider a proper vector to me made from different colour shapes.
If you really want a gradient, make one with shapes.

But it doesn't really matter what it is does it?

# Not in the slightest :)
It was a genuine question. I seem to recall someone saying that the way Flash describes it gradients as vector information.
But, that was a long time ago, and I'm close to senility.

# Gradients are perfectly
common in vector scaled images and it's the reason why illustrator is the best tool for the job because of the excellent gradient mesh tools.
you can make an image in photoshop with shapes but it's still made with pixels so is not a vector.
Vector graphics are built on mathematical formulae and not pixels. That's the difference.

# Er well, yes - that's what I was getting at.
Flash being a vector-based animation tool 'n all.

*checks back through previous post to look for mention of Photoshop*

Nope, not one mention of it.

# I was not suggesting you said anything wrong.
I was just offering an explanation at the bottom of your conversation with Rappola to help clear things up.

If either of you would like to see superb vector work that makes proper use of gradient meshes then google Yukio Miyamoto.

# No worries!
I'm sure that chap (Miyamoto) was giving a 'Inspiration Session' at an Adobe gig I went to in the US a while back.

The name seems very familiar.

# yeah
he's one of the 'masters of Adobe' so I expect he would have done many of the shows over there. We don't quite get the same big names at the creative tours on this side ;)

# Get to Adobe Max in Italy (Milan, I think)
Start of next Month, that's going to be a blast!
Some big guns coming in from States-side.
