# I know it makes me sound like a grade A twat
...but I don't have one. I never even knew that I should until last night, I just thought you were part of a union automatically in certain jobs and that it was over set issues

# Oh, OK.
I wasn't in a union for my first couple of years of teaching until someone nagged me to do it. It might not be too late - have you checked?

# I don't know where to start
I was given the address for TUC but there's not even a number to call and I feel like such an idiot anyway asking 'who should I be contacting'

Edit: I'm going to be speaking to citizen's advice when I know what is going on, I only got told last night and I think they're waiting until my letter with it set out in writing has arrived before they can set anything in motion.

# I dunno...
I think they'd be a good place to start. I know it's a bit like joining the AA after you've broken down, but they'd probably give you some good advice. Try them, or Unison.

edit: yeah, or citizen's advice. Good luck with it all, anyway...

# Thank you :)
I appreciate the concern, and ANY constructive advice to consider right now is brilliant!
