# To beat people who were working there who had nothing to do with it?
Not within their rights at all, says I. If I'd been an elf and a parent had belted me, I'd have held them face down in the mud to show their cuntfruit what the word 'consequences' means.

# Well yes,
but I can imagine the elves standing at the sides going 'LOLTHANXFORTEHCASH!'

Maybe not... maybe they were innocent christmas elves...

Either way, the whole thing is hi-lar-i-ous.

# They were agency workers, weren't they?
Probably fresh from being made redundant and just trying to make some cash to tide them over christmas.

Just so you know, what I've read is that they were on £5.90 an hour. I'd not call that masses of money, more pittance.

# I wonder what their agency pimped it to them as
(, Thu 4 Dec 2008, 14:37, archived)
# God knows.
They must've been desperate though, poor people.

Probably an 'al fresco hospitality extravaganza' or something like that.

# Gah, I do feel for them then...
If I'd been there, I'd have felt far more inclined to burn the billboard down.

# pfft, is more than minimum wage
mebbe the extra was so they could get themselves some 'elf insurance

# I'd want fucking more than minimum wage
for being outside dealing with chavs at this time of year.

# heh
my first job was £2.30 an hour - I never had so much money, I had no idea what to do with it*

* spent it on booze

# Mine was £4ish an hour, I think.
Well, my first legal job. Above board, like. Otherwise it was £2.50 an hour and a free pint after the doors were shut.
(, Thu 4 Dec 2008, 14:43, archived)
# it's only about 60p more
if i could be arsed looking for my payslips i could tell you exactly how much more.

at the end of the day, no-one forced those people to part with their money, when they got to the gate and thought "this looks a bit shit" they should then have said "lets go to the grotto at the local shopping centre/stables"
(, Thu 4 Dec 2008, 14:43, archived)
# didn;t they have to pay in advance?
"book early due to popularity" an that?

# OR
and this is just a suggestion

LAPLAND. If anyone thinks an afternoon in Dorset's worth a couple of hundred (what the fuck), they'll probably think a few days in Lapland's worth a bit more. Well, a lot more. Still.
(, Thu 4 Dec 2008, 14:45, archived)
# but wasn't the ticket price
only £25 and then they ahd to pay more?

I didn't read too much into it, I saw the headline and thought "fucking whinging southern cunts" and didn't read on
(, Thu 4 Dec 2008, 14:48, archived)
# Yeah, it's all gone a bit wrong.
If I were a mum though, I don't think I'd go in for all of that.
