# that reminds me...
of a French film called 'the Red Balloon' in which a small boy chases a red balloon (surprisingly enough) around Paris...
although the balloon in that film was not quite as evil...
they always used to show it on Picture Box - a school TV program of the 70's)

I couldn't find any decent source images from that film. I looked for at least 5 mins before I gave up.
