Well, there was that show called 'Pie In the Sky'

or some such toot, it had Richard Griffiths in it, I seem to recall.

ah yes, i'd forgot about that. used to kick around with a side kick named cambridge.

I suppose Gene Hunt was more of a hoops and egg butty detective.
