not bad. was this done with that scan/stroke the lines method you were discussing with drbroon?
yesit was but no scanning. Just pen tool, create path, stroke, delete path. repeat.

ah ok, i'm about to give that a go, i have a few images to scan first though.
try a simple brush settingfirst like this, hard round
and just use that varying the brush size for the thickness of line you want.
After that when you have figured out what's what you can mess with brush parameters and see what lines you can come up with.
