# here's a real question... how do i save a filmstrip file in after effects?
i can't find it anywhere in my export options.
(, Wed 18 Feb 2009, 6:37, archived)
# I have never used after effects before
choose file - save as or file - export. Maybe it has more than one name.

Failing that hit F1.

# Is it not on the "Save As" format list in your version?
(, Wed 18 Feb 2009, 6:39, archived)
# No, that just wants to save it as .aep
I checked all my export options and it's not there, I understand it's .flm format, but it just plain isn't there, not even in the submenu for "image sequence." I watched my professor do it and it was awesome, now I'm wondering why this lab computer I'm at right now (running CS3 Pro) isn't allowing me to do it.

# My version(pre CS on Mac) save-as dialog has dropdown list with it.
They must have moved it.

edit: Might be on the output formats!

# The help file lists all the supported formats but FLM just plain isn't in the export menu
bollocks.

# Not export, render it for output. Select format for final.
(, Wed 18 Feb 2009, 6:52, archived)
# I read this and didn't see that; where is "render for output?"
I don't pre-render ever, I just let it render itself on a playthrough then watch it again.

edit: wait - found it. cheers!
(, Wed 18 Feb 2009, 6:57, archived)
# That would be why you didn't see it.
