# 4 and a half hours rendering?
how big was it and are you using a dual core or apple core?

Very nice.

# Dual Core. Upgrade machine arrives next week! \o/
It was late, and I'd left a few stray settings 'on' that should have been 'off'.

;-) I know for next time...

Edit: Oh, sorry - to answer your question: the scene file (with the textures folded in is about 20MB) rendered out at 1600x1000 as an alpha-ed psd / 72 dpi is roughly 15MB.

# I like Vue.
Does nice skies.
I got this last week. Been a bit poorly so it remains in the box. I might install it and have a play today.

Edit:/ if you are getting a second machine and will still be running this one I recommend getting a vue rendercow and you'll be able to render the same scene on the 2 machines ( same with Bryce lightening ) providing they are networked.
You'll save a lot of time, or use the same time but be able to add more elements.

# Yeah, I've played around with Carrara a bit, it is nice and fast,
but it doesn't always 'react' in the way you expect. Have a tinker with it - you'll see what I mean.

Edit: Render-farm was my intention, yes indeed - but thanks for the tip.
Did you ever get Bryce Lightning to actually work? It always claimed to be running, but never seemed to speed the process up in the slightest.

# I never tried it
to be honest.
I found what little Bryce rendering I did always to be pretty quick
