I like the sound of this, but isn't there some issue of freshness
with doughnuts? They go funny if you leave them too long. I expect the science people at McViites will have a solution.

No, doughnuts are fried on the day they're made, unlike cakes, which are baked of course.
If you leave them they go all soggy and the oil runs out of them. It's not a good thing to witness, or, indeed, accidentally eat.
