# Lovely stuff, Rev
Sorry to TJ but I wondered if anyone here can help...
Sometimes when I download .flv files from youtube they just won't play.
I use VLCplayer and they looks as if they are playing (the timer starts) but no video and no sound.
Am I doing something spacky?

# Oops, ninja'd
I meant .flv files.
Some play, some don't.
I have poked them and swore at them.

# flv ( flash video )
files are the devil's sperm and were a half-hearted attempt to stop people stealing youtube shite.
Not all files will be the same despite the file extension. ( I could do a boring talk about codecs and multimedia containers but I won't )

Just convert your flash video to something human before you try to watch it or watch it in flash.

# ^This
Flash is a shit and does not play nice outside its own family.
