# Much as I love metal,
I can't get into this kind of thing.

# What do you like?
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 18:28, archived)
# I'm perfectly happy with thrash, doom, stoner rock, post rock or whatever,
but this kind of thing just leaves me cold

# I don't really have a problem with gore metal
or goredeath or whatever it's called, but I can't take it seriously. Bands like CC actually write this stuff, and they're serious about it. I can only really listen to it for a laugh.

# A few friends of mine wanted their band to start wearing corpse paint.
Silly buggers.

# Oh, yeah.
I saw Cradle of Filth with some mates (they were pretty bad) and one of their openers was this band all in corpse paint. I think they were called Zombie-something. A bunch of their fans were there all painted, too. They made a big riot and a bunch of them got kicked out. x_x

That said, Gwar put on a good show if you don't mind getting covered in fake blood and vomit.

# I've always wanted to see Gwar.
I love bands that just put on a good show, even if they're a bit silly. I'm not a Cradle fan, but they had a good live show, so I ended up having a good time.

Plus they had good openers. :]

# Try their earlier stuff like Homovore and Human Jerky.
Back when they played decent grind instead of shitty goredeath crap.

# I might do that.
I have been listening to a lot of Gojira lately.

# French whale-core, eh? Not a fan myself though.

# I saw them on a tip off a few weeks ago.
The new album is great.

# I heard one once. I forget which, and when.
The last real metal I think I listened to was probably Goatsnake a few days back.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 18:37, archived)
# Ah, I love goatsnake.
Do you know Baroness? I'm seeing them on Saturday and I haven't looked into them yet.

# I liked First and Second, but the split and their latest LP I really don't like.
I think you'd enjoy it though.

# Fair enough.
It's mostly an excuse to get an old friend over for some drinking, but hopefully it'll be good.

# Sounds ace!

# Gonna dig out their first 7" tonight, I think.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 18:32, archived)
# Ahhhh
you have a record player?
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 18:37, archived)
# Of course. How would I play my records otherwise?
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 18:38, archived)
# *steal*

I totally want one, because somehow I've ended up with a bunch of 7"s that I can't listen to.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 18:40, archived)
# Bad luck.
(, Thu 9 Apr 2009, 18:45, archived)
# Also: I don't where said records came from.
But I have them *shrug*
