probably proto-b3tans.
Reference for næddre is easy enough to find. Newt is supposed to have begun as efeta, still apparently dialect somewhere (where?), and then gone efeta eveta eueta euta ewt. Baby newts are apparently still called efts (by who?) ... can't find references.
