
From far away it looks like ASCII art, but of course its not. How long did this take to do? and how many layers were there?

One of them is just the flat white background, and the other 5 are the overlaying vector layers that make up the face. At the end though I doubled up the 5 vector layers and offset them to give it some more density, so there are actually 11 layers used if you include the background.
It took about an hour I guess. It's the same techniques I often use to make these, except I put raster masks onto all of the vector layers and filled them with a stripe, then rotated the raster masks to create the crosshatching.
