All the real work is in the choices of tones and hues.
And keeping focused to finish it, of course. Woo.

I've not done one of Walrusman's darker ones yet. I kinda like the brighter ones. But I should/will eventually.

but I found it even more tedious than doing vector portraits, which happens to be more tedious than colouring in other peoples drawings. So guess which I do :D

I have never been good at the vectoring/bezier trip. I admire
any and all who have the patience to bend those fuckers.
Anything more complex than a trace or closecropping and
I want to kill things. Nasty twisty nodes & handles of hell.

My problem is usually going back and unknotting nodes
after I've tweeked them and found they are wrapped or
looped. Slows me down and I get frustrated with having
to go back and untwirl three or four per object. I know
there are shortcuts and techniques to avoid it, but getting
that to second nature level has not stuck in my head yet.
