I don't hate him.He's good at what he does. But, as your post indicates, I think that there's a gap between what he does and the praise heaped on him.
He's a reasonably clever, reasonably quick-witted person. But then, so are many others. With luck, Stephen Fry will turn into Clement Freud as the years pass.
