I don't get the excitement and awe.
It's too ridiculously off-base for my taste, and the satire I think is poor.
It just strikes me as a bland, mildly amusing cartoon.

Not at all.
I wish I did understand it.
I had something of a revelation with The Simpsons, but that's because I'd never watched it. Family Guy I've tried and tried with, and just don't get the excitement.

to get most of the jokes you need a vast encyclopaedia of knowledge of american pop culture and celebrities
that's why i don't really like family guy either
