Isn't it just excess illumination from whatever that reflective thing is in the background?Hence why it's also got a weird pattern.

reflective thing in the background is a traffic signhaven't seen flash reflected from traffic signs cause that kind of mist pattern before
I thought it might have been my breath lit-up by the flash but it looks almost too defined and not just a large area of smooth blur as I'd have thought if it were breath
the lens on the camera was tiny, don't think it even had a focus capability
