It seems to be everywhere now, I suppose due to effects guys being nerds for such references,like the Wilhelm Scream and every merkin army style group having a Kawalski, it's become an in joke with the guys behind the scenes.

Yeh, well, the man seems only to see dollars rather than have any sense of artistic style or restraint these days,but I kinda thought the big boom at the end needed a little help.
Coulda seriously done without all the distracting 'comedy' CGI aliens and robots in the background of every scene tho...
