
I got stick insects this weekend, and have just heard that their former home has since been overrun by ants and all their relatives brutally killed :(

and the presence of a growing colony of stick insects in the kitchen must have upset them a bit
I only mention this because I wanted some of the tadpoles as well but they were hiding under the pondweed. Either that or the sticklebacks have eaten them all :/

I haven't even got onto the pigeons and the birds of prey (sparrowhawks, maybe?) that evicerate them on the lawn yet

she's a teacher so there's always the school rabbit/fish/snails/insects/tadpoles around...my sister's just as bad, she's got the school chickens at the moment (in addition to two cats, one pregnant, plus hamsters and god know what else)
