
it to be your own work. Put simply, if it was just a free-for-all, all sorts of shite would get posted on here. If I'd just spent a couple of hours knocking up what I considered to be my latest masterpiece, only to see it shoved off the board and into the archive (known colloquially around here as 'the spazz'), I'd be pretty pissed off. You should be able to tell by the quality of the work on here that people spend a lot of time making it. If it didn't work like this, you wouldn't get this level of quality, because people wouldn't bother.
Also, there is the matter of bandwidth. In short, the more people look at your picture, the more your web space costs. If you nick one of someone's pictures and post it by remote linking it on a messageboard to their site, they won't thank you for it.
