have b3ta ever concidered just having an images only forum?
I find the forum moves WAY too fast and alot of it is from comments, couldn't the magic people who run this site make a seperate board for just pics or something?

you're not supposed to waste threads like this, becasue it puches someone elses work off the page. which brings up the point, you're suppost to post things you've made,
the board isn't only for pictures, its for all types of media, but media you, yourself, have made
so if you could, plese delete this thread with the little delete button, please? :) thank you

it is irrelevant who 'made' or 'found' interesting images or text on the web and feel that the cunts on here or elsewhere may appreciate it and thus people post it!
Correct me if Im wrong but I use the web for buss, info, fun and humour and it is the worlds greatest, cheapish and most valuble source of just about anything anybody could possibly want or need.
I am totally against charging for this but it is inevitable and the web needs to remain uncensored and ungoverned for as long as possible.
But what do I care coz I'm off for a pizza!

it to be your own work. Put simply, if it was just a free-for-all, all sorts of shite would get posted on here. If I'd just spent a couple of hours knocking up what I considered to be my latest masterpiece, only to see it shoved off the board and into the archive (known colloquially around here as "the spazz"), I'd be pretty pissed off. You should be able to tell by the quality of the work on here that people spend a lot of time making it. If it didn't work like this, you wouldn't get this level of quality, because people wouldn't bother.
Also, there is the matter of bandwidth. In short, the more people look at your picture, the more your web space costs. If you nick one of someone's pictures and post it by remote linking it on a messageboard to their site, they won't thank you for it.

the rough with the smooth. b3ta isn't just about pictures, it's about people; people with nothing to do...

could "look deep into the spazz" be understood... for some reason, I'm still amazed by this.

there are plenty of reasons why this isn't a pictures only board. Some are logistical - most people would look at both at the same time (double the traffic yada yada yada) - whilst others are more ephemeral - as somebody pointed out much earlier, if you go back to the first 10 or so pages of the board, there were no pictures at all. Some people think (myself included, to be honest) that the board is all the better for not just being a big collection of pictures and responses. Having the board broken up with useless links, text only messages of various sorts (and even, occasionally, spam) gives it the dynamic of being alive. If it's just pictures, pictures and more pictures that you want, the b3ta webring has links to some of our galleries.
B3ta is now enormously popular now - this much we know. It's popularity is for several reasons, and the design (by the wonderful Cal) is not the least of them. It's easy to use, it's welcoming (if you post an image and it's not really offensive or NSFW, the worst that will ever happen is that it will go ignored), and if you get confuddled they've even gone so far as to explain more or less everything you need to know in order to participate.
So... sit back, light up a kitten, fire up your copy of Photoshop, and make us something that will make want to unleash my Stunt Penguin. Go on - you know you want to...
