Shouldn't that be on the right side?My bike has done around 30 miles (around 20 have been offroad) over the weekend and everything is holding up well.

yeah i couldn't decide to say left or right, it's the right side as you look at it,but would be the left side as the monitor looks at you.
don't speak too soon, your saddle will fail in service, then you'd be buggered.
