Well just what it says. Marketing wanted to put positive sounding words without compromising their low standards.
It was but like the whole flavour/flavoured thing.
You'll see on the packet it says flavour which means that it tastes like lets say cheese and onions but legally doesn't have to contain any cheese or onion.
Flavoured means the taste has to come from cheese and onion.
