It's a solid little machine. It uses an Intel Atom and has a gig of RAM, so it's definitely fast enough for word apps and net browsing and whatnot.I believe it has a 160gb HDD too. The only real drawbacks is that your choice of OS is limited to GNU/Linux or XP, but that's the same with all Netbooks.

yeah, reviews are looking good!I think the uni network still runs mostly on XP, so that'd be fine.

There's usually a few vendors like ebuyer, microdirect and tigerdirect which'll do what you want much cheaper than a major retailer.Search around on Google, see what comes up.
