I first had Summer Lightningin a Wetherspoons when I was 17. Despite these innocuous beginnings, I grew to love it enormously.
Still the best beer I've tried was a small one called Golden Drop that was sold in Northants for a few months in 96 or so. Never seen it since, at least not outside the bounds of cheap porn. This is a pity, because it has a kind of glow in my memory.

around the time i tried golden drop i also tried belt and bucklethat was fucking minging. it tasted like it was someone's sweaty belt and buckle boiled in stagnant water.
