Not really.If you have a bath in the midddle of the wall, it makes more sense to have the taps coming out of the wall rather than lots of unseemly piping.

there are all sorts of ways to conceal pipes,but functionality is more important anyway. You'd have to lean right across to turn them on and off, and you'd keep banging your knee on it.
