It didn't have to beif people would stick to it. Perhaps the idea was even to reduce the number of shit compo entries we get flooded with on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings, by making people do something instead of just lazily shop a seamy piece of shit and throw it on the board like vomit into an overflowing gutter.
Alas, if this was the case, it failed, because people interpret "Cut out a celebrity and put it somewhere" as "lazily draw a wobbly dotted line on any picture you like and show it to the internets, they'll all love it! LOLOLOLOLOLOL".
If anything, this utter lack of comprehension is a damning indictment of our education system.
