I had to take a duck off a hook with pliers onceSome kids fishing had hooked the duck and had reeled the poor thing in and didn't know what to do. I had to cover its head with a blanket (helps to keep it a bit quieter) and then use pliers to close the barb and pull the hook back round and out. I heard human spit is vaguely antibiotic too so I used that to try clean the wound, then let it go and it flew off.
