Join a games forum and get to play with people that way? They are usually nice people who enjoy gaming aswell.
Borderlands is pretty easy I've heard, and most of the cheevos can be done without realising, so there's not too much replay value.

I tend to play with the same people most of the timeNever met them, but we have a laugh when we're playing.
And as we actually communicate we usually win on objective based games like domination etc... as we dont just care about getting nukes.
