The first serious role I ever saw him in
was playing Charlie Chaplin in "The Cat's Meow". I totally upgraded my opinion of him from "indifferent" to "impressive".

I don't think I have seen that, I'll have to have a look for it.
I'm a massive fan of his stand up, but as Archie has said so eloquently, his acting has far too often suffered from him being Eddie Izzard.
