edit: historian mate of mine was once told that "the nazis were socialists, actually, you know" - he said, "name ONE 'socialist' policy they implemented". end of argument, really.

nationalisation of large industries...i'm a socialist so don't wanna be tarred with the national socialist brush but they realised that the planned economy was more efficient than the surreal structure of capitalism...havin said that, socialism is based on equality and they didn't exactly preach that...they were, to some extent, idealistic anarchists who perceived small peasant-based communities in an idyllic aryan future but that was just ball-cocks....*blushes*
