A 'proper noun' is a grammatical entity. It is not a class of words. To say someone can't spell proper nouns makes about as much sense as saying they can't spell the accusative case. The individual words that make up a proper noun may have a spelling, but they aren't necessarily English words, or even words in any language at all. This is why they aren't allowed in Scrabble.

In any case, he's written 'oscar wild' (sic) not only without capitalisation, but also with the indefinite article, so there's a case to be made for it not being a proper noun anyway.

[edit] I'm also not all too impressed by a website with such pedantic leanings that gives as an example 'My favourite movie is Greece.'
