Firefox seems to have split into two versions3.0.x, and 3.5.x. My 3.0 automatically updates, but also keeps popping up unblockable adverts telling me that I really need to update to 3.5 because it's faster. I also clicked a link on one of these where I was able to fill out a form confirming that the reason I wasn't updating was because I can't be arsed and don't like risking changes.
