I saw my wife using Word the other day - she knows where everything is now - but it's a confusing mess of buttons to me...

I had to use it for the first time in years last week.
Pure evil :(

When my mum was trying to work out how to use it, we found that you can:
a) hide the ribbon
b) put most of the normal small buttons back on a 'quick use' bar.

Ha ha ha!
Same happened to me.
Also, I updated Firefox last week. Why does it run through all the tabs you have from beginning to end now, instead of flicking back to your last tab?

I get pissy when they fix things that aren't broken by making them worse.
Things working differently ought to be the add-on.
Also, did you really mean "menial"?

I upgraded my Linux all the way from Hardy to Karmic the other day,
that's three upgrades one after the other. I finally managed to get it back to working almost the same way it used to, after fixing the graphics driver, which it breakest.

Firefox seems to have split into two versions
3.0.x, and 3.5.x. My 3.0 automatically updates, but also keeps popping up unblockable adverts telling me that I really need to update to 3.5 because it's faster. I also clicked a link on one of these where I was able to fill out a form confirming that the reason I wasn't updating was because I can't be arsed and don't like risking changes.
...oh here it goes again.

I'dve loved to have seen that classic TV difficulties pic with Scarlet being the girl with the blackboard and Pip as the creeepy clown doll.
It would be amusing if anything.
