Though I think 3d printing is mighty cool a model this size would probably cost a couple thousand dollars to print. That and I'd have to find a way to digitize the design either scanning it or sculpting the model digitally myself first. I'd be perfectly willing to print one if someone gave me a whole pile of cash to do so, tho.
I do 3d printing fairly often and though it's coming down in price pretty steadily and coming up in quality even faster it's still not too practical for production lines, especially that the material is never all too strong when it comes out.
I think my lamp's been posted across a few blogs. I know it's been on Make and Craft as well as some design zines.
