They were all set up ready to begin filming.The first shot they took was of bacon sizzling in a frying pan. But Friedkin, the director, wasn't happy with the way the bacon was cooking -- it was shrinking and turning up at the edges. So he stopped all work while a member of the crew was sent out to look for salt-free bacon, which was supposed cook in a more aesthetically pleasing way.
