the whole Oasis/Blur thing was hyped to buggery,
it was pretty much a media invention except for that one time when they both released an album at the same time, if that counts as significant.

i think you're right, personally i always thought they sounded to dissimilar to be rivals
and blur were a bit more wacky and had a laugh in their songs and vids.

It was the Roll With It / Country House timed release that got it really going...
Funny, because they were amongst the worst singles each band put out.
/has a massive Blur collectionm that I can't quite bring myself to dispose of.
