A carpenter designing an expensive bespoke cutting tool forgets the whole "measure twice, cut once" thing.
It's been a while since I made some drawers, but what's wrong with using a dado joint? Maybe I've inherited some prejudices from my woodwork teacher, but I wouldn't be using plywood for anything visible anyway.
